Spring Break?

How can this be my Spring Break. It's not springy outside! Well, the good people on the school board in Murray District decided that this is the week for our spring break. It's a bummer, because it doesn't coincide with our girls' break. Also, it looks like it may snow this week. How dumb is that.

We did have some fun yesterday though. Aspen had her first soccer game of the spring. Her team ended up forfeiting the game because they only had three players. The other team gave us a player and they played 5 against 4. Poor Aspen and her two team mates ran their guts out. Aspen played well, but did get hit with the ball in the mouth on one play. She did a good job being tough and getting back in the game because there was no one else on her team to sub in for her.

We also did a little work in the yard. Marja planted a couple of blueberry bushes and we did some fertilizing and general clean up. I am getting so excited for the coming season. We hope to be able to plant some blackberries and boysenberries this spring. The clematis seem to be doing well with sending up some new shoots already. Both Marja and I got a little more sun than we expected too, but it's nice to get some color in your cheeks after a long winter.
